Burn Law
Washington County, Virginia does not issue Burn Permits.
The Virginia Department of Forestry requires that any open burning from February 15 through April 30 of each year, within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or field containing dry grass or other combustible material leading to woodland, be done between the hours of 4PM and midnight.
Anytime that you decide to burn make sure that the weather is appropriate such as no/low winds and that you remain with the fire at all times. If the fire happens to get out of control, call 9-1-1 immediately to avoid further spread
